A Special Treat from the Eugene Rogue
Well, once again I have dropped in at the Eugene CIty Rogue. A Taster, as usual..
I ordered 'my usual'. (ah... steely dan.. royal scam on the stereo... the caves of altamira - perfecto)
Old Crusty
I2PA
Imperial Stout
plus some special flavor in the
Festivus, a very smooth seasonal that has a woody quality - and some sparkle. Like the best possible rendition of a holiday tree in grog.
The topper was the Glen Ale - a tribute to the brewer at the old Wild Duck. Their brewer was a good friend of mine tastebuds. This one is a strong ale, that is subtle enough to express that explicitly, yet retain all the joys of flavor that ale can provide. A good winter ale, indeed. Even better knowing that it was 1. Free, and 2. One Keg Only - a limited edition of the keg hunter's favorite size.
